In answer to the request for Title Companies to provide a copy of the closing statements of both parties to the other for the agents files:
In the opinion of the Legal Counsel for the Montana Association James A. Bowditch the information contained in a closing statement is confidential. He can see no reason why a buyer or buyer's agent would need to see a seller's closing statement or vice versa. Therefore, he believes a title company is within their right to refuse to send a listing agent a copy of the buyer's closing statement without the buyer's consent or a copy of the sellers closing statement to the buyer's agent with out the sellers consent.
